Manage cross-border healthcare crisis through regional negotiation and technical decision-making
Description
This 3-hour simulation places healthcare professionals in a regional commission addressing a major health emergency affecting countries across South-East Asia. Potential scenarios include emerging infectious diseases, pandemic preparedness, vaccine and medicine distribution, tropical diseases, natural disasters, health-system overload, antimicrobial resistance, or cross-border healthcare emergencies. Each participant represents an assigned country and must prepare independently by studying its health system, disease burden, resources, and strategic priorities. Participants then negotiate regional actions while responding to new developments introduced during the simulation. The exercise emphasizes evidence-based healthcare diplomacy, crisis communication, negotiation, resource allocation, and international coordination.
