Interactive Medical Writing Workshop: Clinical Research

Description

Develop practical skills for writing an original clinical research manuscript in this interactive 3-hour workshop. Designed for medical students, physicians, residents, and early-career researchers, the session covers retrospective studies, prospective studies, and clinical trials. Before the workshop, participants receive the research topic, study context, and simulated study results so they can independently review the subject, become familiar with the type of data, and arrive prepared to work with the material. During the live session, participants use those results to build the main manuscript sections, including the title, abstract, introduction, methods, results, tables and figures, discussion, limitations, conclusions, references, and disclosures. The workshop emphasizes clear research questions, alignment between objectives and methods, appropriate presentation and interpretation of results, and common reporting standards. This is a hands-on training session rather than a lecture. Participants will write and revise sections during the workshop and will have 48 hours afterward to submit a completed or substantially advanced manuscript exercise for instructor feedback. The exercise is for skills development only and is not intended for journal submission, publication, or authorship.
