About the Pilot

This is a research and development pilot by microscopIA designed to evaluate how psychological support can be provided in a way that is global, safe, accessible, and affordable.

The experience and feedback collected during the pilot will help inform the development of a consolidated service that may be offered more broadly and internationally in the future. More languages will be available soon.

The pilot is not an emergency mental health service.

02

Who can participate?

The pilot is open to adults and older adults from any country.

Currently, psychological care is provided in English or Spanish. Participants should be able to communicate effectively in one of these languages to support a safe and meaningful session.

Because sessions are conducted online through Zoom, participants must have access to a device and a sufficiently stable internet connection to support a good-quality video and audio call.

Children and adolescents are not eligible for this pilot.

03

What does the session provide?

Each session consists of one hour of psychological support with a psychologist.

Sessions may address emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, and other psychological concerns within the psychologist's professional scope of practice.

The psychologist may recommend additional or specialized care when a participant's needs require services beyond the scope of the pilot.

This service does not replace emergency medical or psychiatric care.

04

What does the session provide?

  • 1-hour online session with a psychologist.

  • Free of charge during the pilot period.

  • One session every two weeks.

  • Sessions are scheduled through the platform.

  • Before participating, you will be asked for basic information that may be necessary to provide appropriate support and respond to a serious safety concern.

  • Participants may be asked for an emergency contact and information about their current location or local emergency services when clinically necessary.

  • The psychologist will handle information according to applicable professional, confidentiality, privacy, and data-protection requirements.

If a participant reports suicidal thoughts, imminent danger, serious self-harm risk, or another critical safety concern, the psychologist may need to take appropriate protective steps. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, this may include encouraging or facilitating contact with emergency services, a healthcare provider, an emergency contact, or another appropriate support person.
